OMKARESHWAR TEMPLE

 

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Omkareshwar is a Hindu temple located in the Khandwa District of Madhya Pradesh, India. Also, the temple is situated on an island shaped like “Om” which believed as sacred in Hindu Culture.

 

Furthermore, it is one of the Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva scattered all over the country.

However, the temple has two main temples – Omkareshwar Temple and Amareshwar Temple located in the south bank of Narmada river.

 

In addition, Omkareshwar is formed by the sacred river Narmada. To conclude, this is one of the most sacred of rivers in India and is now home to one of the world’s biggest dam projects.
