Mehrangarh Fort is a popular tourist spot. Its splendid architecture and the diverse history make it one of the most magnificent forts in Rajasthan.

 

Mehrangarh Fort was built by Rao Jodha in the year 1459. Moreover, it is built on the outskirts of the Jodhpur city on top of a hill. And because it is on a hill, you can see the panoramic view of the city.

 

Moreover, there are seven gates in total from where you can enter the Mehrangarh Fort. Not to mention, each gate was made by a different ruler and was built in honor of victory over Bikaner and Jaipur armies.

 

Within the palace one can see the beautiful palaces.

The palaces located are:

Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Zenana Dude, Takht Vilas and Jhanki Mahal.

 

Also, you can see the two temples located inside the fort as well. These are, Chamundi Devi Mandir and Nagnechiaji Mandir.

 

Furthermore, Mehrangarh fort houses a museum displaying a rich collection of palanquins, musical instruments, royal cradles, costumes, arms, furniture and paintings.

  • International Guests (Students) – INR 400
  • Domestic Guests – INR 100
  • Domestic Guests (Sr. citizen, Student, Para Military personnel) – INR 50
  • Photography Permit: Still – INR 100
  • Photography Permit: Video – INR 200
