10 Must Watch Travel Movies That Inspires You To Travel

If you have a passion to travel, you are gonna watch these films over & over again, and never get sick of them. For me, nothing gets more excited to travel than a good travel film. It gives you the inspiration and the motivation to explore a new destination find a heaven of your own.

 

I would like to present you with my personal list of 10 must watch travel movies. Which ones are your favourites?

 

Also, its funny but true that, I started to realise I had a travel obsession when all my favourite movies were based on crazy travel adventures.

 

Moreover, I feel the instant urge to pack up everything and head out to explore the world. Also, great travel movies like these have inspired me and i am sure they are gonna inspire you too and help set travel goals for future.

1. Into The Wild (2007)

Into The Wild is the true story of Christopher McCandless, a recent college graduate who gives away his live savings and hitchhikes to Alaska. He meets all kinds of people along the way, each with their own stories.

 

In Alaska, he heads out into the wilderness to live on his own. Moreover, his life is filled with random adventures and experiences while he makes his way up to “The Last Frontier”.

Furthermore, this is what travel is all about to me. Experiences, good and bad, make you who you are.

2.The Bucket List (2007)

If you know the name of the Legendary people in the movie, like Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, then there is nothing much to say. But let me tell my heart out, this is the best movie when travel comes in my mind. A simple story with extraordinary performances. In fact, the story revolves around Two terminally ill men escape from a cancer ward and head off on a road trip with a wish list of to-dos before they die. A must watch for each one of you.

3. 127 Hours (2010)

A must watch movie for the die hard adventure fanatics, this movie gives you the insight of the zeal to survive through some of the most scariest accidents. A mountaineer and avid adenturelover embarks on a day hiking in the mountains of Utah. Meanwhile on the mountains he slips and gets his right hand flattened and trapped with a rock. The story is about how he survives when there was no one to help him out, he tries everything and all the minute details of 127 Hours of survival is described with utmost beauty in the movie.

4. The Darjeeling Limited (2007)

A movie based on three warring brothers set out to travel across India, after their father’s funeral. Moreover, it is a journey dedicated to find their own self, and bond with each other.

5. The Motorcycle Diaries (2004)

Claimed to be one of the most sought after travel movie based on the life changing trip Che Guevera. The revolves around the journey and written memoir of the 23-year-old Ernesto Guevara, who would several years later become internationally known as the iconic Marxist guerrilla commander andrevolutionary Che Guevara. In fact, the film recounts the 1952 expedition, initially by motorcycle, across South America by Guevara and his friend Alberto Granado. Also, a masterpeice of its own and a must watch for all the Che followers and Travel Enthusiasts.

6. Life Of Pi (2012)

A survival drama yet again based on the novel of Yann Martel with the same name. Moreover, the story revolves around a boy stuck on a boat where he found yet another survivor, this one is not a common one, the boy gets stuck on a boat with a Royal Bengal Tiger, the beast and their survival story is one of its kind. A must watch for all.

7. Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara (2011)

One of the most beautiful movie ever created in the Bollywood, the story revolves around three long lost close friends. Together they plan to set out for a trip to europe before getting married. Moreover, in doing so the movie describes how they come closer to life and experience the true meaning of it. Also, there are millions of pairs of Three Musketeers out there, they will surely get inspired with movie and pack their bags and head out to get lost somewhere with close ones.

8. Vertical Limit (2000)

A survival drama once agin for your, what else would you expect when the main objective is Adventure itlself. Moreover, a story of a group of mountaineers getting trapped in the adverse peak of K2. The movie focusses on the issues that erupts in such temperatures, like frost bites, cold burn and much more. A must watch for all those passionate lover of extreme adventure.

9. Seven Years In Tibet (1997)

A life changing movie starring Hollywood megastar Brad Pitt, a war drama based on a novel of the same name, written by Heinrich Harrer. In fact, the story is about the friendship between the author and The Dalai Lama during the takeover of Tibet by China.

10. The Way Back (2010)

The Way Back is a 2010 survival drama film directed by Peter Weir, from a screenplay by Weir and Keith Clarke. moreover, the film is inspired by The Long Walk (1956), the memoir by former Polish prisoner of war Sławomir Rawicz who escaped from a Soviet Gulagand walked 4,000 miles to freedom in World War II.
