Jaipur is known as the “Pink City” due to its dominant colour scheme of its buildings. It is the capital and the largest city of Rajasthan. Built by Sawai Jai Singh, this city was the first planned city. It is a very popular destination especially among the international travellers. Why? This place is so vibrant, full of magnificent forts and palaces and the most amazing part FOOD!

 

The palaces and forts built by some great kings has amazing architecture and are a must visit. There are many statues around the city that depict Rajasthani culture.

 

The earlier kings of Jaipur were a huge fan to arts and crafts. They used to invite a lot of artists, craftsmen and artisans from all over India. Some of these crafts include bandhani, block printing, sculptures, gotta-patti, silver jewellery, gems, lakh ki chudiya (bangles), blue pottery, leather work and many more.

 

Jaipur is a major tourist destination and also among one of the cities included in the ‘Golden Triangle which includes Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.
